If you scheduled your first examination, bring all test results you have, medical reports, X-ray shots, blood tests, dermoscopic findings, ph analysis or blood vessel doppler ultrasound–all referring to the problem which is the primary reason for making an appointment. During the examination, the doctor will prepare a report which will include detailed instructions on how to perform preparations for a particular surgery. Do not forget to read the report the day before the procedure.

Using medications such as Andol, Acetisal or Aspirin is not recommended fifteen days before the procedure.

On the very day of the procedure you should have the results of the following analyses: complete blood count, bleeding time, coagulation time, prothrombin time. These analyses should not be done more than 15 days before the procedure. All analyses may be performed in a local laboratory or at our clinic. Take food and water as usual.

You should not feel any pain during the procedure. After the procedure, you will be kept at the clinic for another two hour in order to monitor your condition. After the release, you should not be walking home.

For seven days after the procedure you should not plan any exhausting physical activities. You may experience mild pain an hour after the procedure, which can easily be treated with pain killers. Upon completion of the intervention, you will receive a medical report which will include detailed recommendations of your surgeon, date of the scheduled follow-up examination as well as your therapy. You can buy medications at the pharmacy based on the medical report or obtain your prescriptions at your Outpatient Medical Center.

You should not feel any pain during the procedure. You will be able to talk to your surgeon throughout the whole procedure, which takes about thirty minutes. After the procedure, you will be kept at the clinic for another thirty minutes in order to monitor your condition. After the release, you should not be walking home.

You should plan a leave of absence from work for the first couple of days after the procedure. Avoiding exhausting physical activities is highly recommended for the next fifteen days. Light diet is advised. You may experience mild pain, which can easily be treated with pain killers. Mild swelling and bruising are quite expected after a surgical procedure. Upon completion of the intervention, you will receive a medical report which will include detailed recommendations of your surgeon, date of the scheduled follow-up examination as well as your therapy. When arriving for a scheduled surgical procedure you should avoid planning a lot of obligations, visiting friends, going to the seaside or to a spa because each individual has different sensitivity to pain.Therefore, the course of recovery after the procedure may be of different length. Usually the recovery lasts between two days and one week. After that period you should avoid exhausting physical activities at all costs. Each person has different sensitivity to pain. Due to that, the stay in the hospital, as well as the period of home care provided in Belgrade, may be extended.

Recovery after a surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia: The patient can leave the clinic on his/her own or accompanied by another person, usually an hour after the procedure. Bedrest at home is highly recommended immediately after leaving the clinic. The patient is strongly advised against exhausting physical activities during the next 7-10 days and drinking alcohol. No special diet is required.

Recovery after a surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia: The patient can leave the clinic 24-48h after the procedure, accompanied by another person. Going home by personal vehicle or taxi is highly recommended (avoid public transportation and going the distance longer than 5km).  Bed rest at home (or at a hotel) is highly recommended for three days after leaving the clinic. The patient is strongly advised against doing anything but basic physical activities in terms of maintaining personal hygiene and taking some food. During the first several days immediately after the procedure, you should have the assistance of another person available at all times. You should also be accompanied by another person when coming for scheduled follow-up examinations. Long journeys should be planned only ten days after the procedure. After a surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia, during the first several days of recovery you should have a light, but regular diet (five small meals a day) made up of a variety of foods. During the first ten days after the procedure, the patient is strongly advised against drinking alcohol and smoking excessively. Light physical activities can be performed ten days after the procedure, whereas exhausting physical activities can be performed usually a month after the procedure. Disregarding the doctor’s instructions and recommendations may cause complications and may aggravate the overall condition of the patient.
